Puchong Chong Wah Tuo

Another Puchong Food Quest

Yesterday before we (me, Elmo, Little Karen) went to Wu's place, we went dinner at Puchong Chong Wah Tuo, the food there is considered average, tasted better and tried worse. If I was a working guy, the price might seem just a tat bit expensive for me, but since I am a student, its rather expensive to dine there, rather go grab something at the hawker centre which will be cheaper. Imagine a bowl of porridge/Asam Laksa cost RM5.90, to some of you it might be ok considering it is in a shop lot, not road side or hawker centre.

Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, the owner of this shop is from China, heard it from a fellow China basketball friend, we went there last time to try the Guī líng gāo (龜苓膏/龟苓膏) or to some might be known as Tortoise/Turtle Jelly, it cost RM5.00 per bowl, and like those Kong Wah Tong you see around shopping complexes, they are served together with honey, else its very bitter. This time, we noticed they sell three different types of Jelly, the original, mint, and Pearl, all cost RM5.00 except the Pearl, that cost RM12.00, and in my head was the pearl from the Bubble Milk Tea. Haha, so did Little Karen. But then Elmo gave us an explanation about it.

Best: Service (maybe cause there were no other customer during that time?)
Worst: PRICE (RM13 for a bowl of porridge, turtle jelly, and dessert - to me its expensive! to you I don't know)

Last but not least, the AFTERMATH

If you are just looking for Turtle Jelly (gui ling kao - 龜苓膏), then give this a try, if you are going for food, better luck else where, its desserts are rather average, but the food is a little better than average, nothing to shout about this Puchong Chong Wah Tuo's food, but the Turtle Jelly is ok.

Seoul Garden at Plaza Pantai

This post is somewhat related to the previous Thean Hou Temple (天后宫) post.

Before we (me and Elmo) went to the temple, we had our lunch at Seoul Garden, it has been a long time since we first saw this outlet, still remember the first time we ate at Seoul Garden was at Mahkota Parade in Malacca, that was when we were still in MMU Malacca, then after we transferred to MMU Cyberjaya, we saw another Seoul Garden at Plaza Pantai, but we never had the chance to try it out, instead we ended up visiting the Seoul Garden at One Utama and IOI Mall. Finally we decided to try it after so long. It was considered as the best and the worst Seoul Garden outlet we ever went to.

Best: Varieties of food, large frying pan and oil is provided.
Worst: Single pan (you can't ask to change pan), time, furniture and layout

Well, enough complaining and praising, now picture time, didn't took much picture as there were not many customers there, and somehow felt like our backs are being stabbed with the workers eye. LOL

Thean Hou Temple (天后宫)

On the fifth day of the Lunar Calendar (Thursday), me and Elmo went to Thean Hou Temple (some might refer to it as TIAN HOU GONGto pray, little did we know that there are a lot of others going up too, so with a little effort, my car survived the hike up. It was indeed crowded and lots of new things was available. Wasn't able to snap a lot of pics, but these are among what I got:
Dragon

Fortune Bridge

Maitreya Buddha

Maitreya Buddha Guide

Thean Hou Temple Lantern

The following 3pics are taken from Wiki

The above info is extracted from Thean Hou Temple Wiki

CNY Feast

Like most of you who celebrate CNY (Chinese New Year), there is the Reunion Dinner which is suppose to be the most important part in the whole celebration. The Reunion Dinner is always done on the CNY eve, also known as 'Nian San Shi' to some (me). Anyways, what we normally have are traditional foods, for us its more towards Baba Nyonya cuisine, why? Cause I am a of that line of descendant. Well, lets not bore you to death with words, instead let me kill you with the foods. Well, I only had a 1.3 pixel HP cam with me, so bear with me la

Roast Duck

Prawn

Vege

Sang Choi

Daun Sup (for the Itik Tim-I think thats how its spelled)

Home Grown Mini Cucumber

Fried Fish with Sweet & Spicy Sauce

Sek Bak (My favourite)

There are actually a few more dishes that I don't plan to post, particularly due to the quality of the image. The dishes are Roast Pork, Itik Tim, and Pong Teh (mix of pork and chicken).

Bleach!

Recently had the urge to watch back some old anime, too bad I deleted them, so need to re-download them, and I like to watch from the beginning, so now downloading Bleach epi1 first, one of the reason why I chose Bleach probably had something to do with this poster that I have in my room, in case if you don't know, yes, I am a big fan of anime, good ones especially, Bleach and One Piece are my fav, followed by Code Geass, but no matter when, Initial D will always be #1 alongside with runner up, Samurai X. Those were the best of that time.

In case if you want to see a little more on Bleach, here are some google-d image

And no, its not about things like these, though these are also the characters inside the anime.
