MUEBLES

Stupid Multimedia Marketing assignment taking a little detour, just when I thought everything was going smoothly, some hiccup occurs, and one thing led to another, we ended up parting from the meeting not too long ago, I assume around 5.20am.

Well too bad I left Macromedia Dreamweaver MX a long time ago, else, I will be able to finish up what everyone is trying to do for the past week in a maximum time of five days!

Well, the whole project (assignment) requires us to benchmark a company and help to improve a company using the benchmark. We used MUEBLES (Rattan Furnishing) as the lousy one, and benchmarked it against IKEA. OMG!!

But we had to make sure we get this into your head!

The rattan we are talking about is not your typical aunty type of furniture. So now you get the picture of what type of rattan that we (MUEBLES) are selling, so rest assure that the website is also rather nice instead of boring.

Dragon Drift!!

Title is weird yet catchy, haha. Well, recently lazy to blog, primarily due to three things!
1) Assignment
2) Studying Jap (excuse)
3) Gaming

If I were to break down the mentioned into percentage, 25%, 5%, and 70% respectively.
Haha!! Who am I kidding, I don't really study, but do so if needed. Our MUEBLES are finishing soon, in other words, assignment complete!!!

Recently have been playing an Role Playing Game (RPG) game, Dragon Age: Origins. Like all other RPG games, you have to choose primarily between a melee (close combat), range or magic. Well that goes same with this game, and we also have to choose to be either Human, Elf or Dwarf, currently playing Human, in Human there are 2 modes, normal or Nobel, well, I didn't know that I can be a normal citizen instead of a Nobel until half way through the mission. A really fun game, to be honest, it have been a long time since I last played an RPG game, I think the last might be either Diablo or Final Fantasy X-II. What this game is cool about is that the story progresses depending on how you want it to, or so I think. But most of the game nowadays are like that already, so that proves that I am really outdated! Here are some screens!

If you are wondering, NO, I don't own a PS3, though James do, I'm playing it using my PC.

Strangely I never saw this screen before

Instead, this is the screen that normally appears

Haven't played till here yet, so no idea who are them!

Aside from gaming, really wish to go for the Formula D at Serdang this 19-20 December 2009. More details at Formula Drift. This time due to its hugeness (organized by ESPN Star Sport - I think), I can't attend, since it needs $$ (tickets). Well, it s*cks when you don't have much disposable income like me. Here are some pics

See the price! When last time I went to the one at Shah Alam Stadium near Tesco Extra (formerly Makro), it was free. Under the sun and very small event la of course

The guy in black is Goodyear Malaysia Bhd's Managing Director, Nasution Abdul Rahman

If I'm not mistaken, he just bought an R34, and was coached on the basics of drifting by Jane and Ariff. Then he performed a doughnut in an AE86, he did it primarily for an event or so.

I’m a Sherlock Holmes in the Making

Well, the recent Nuffnang contest for the movie Sherlock!! A really cool movie based on the Arthur Conan Doyle’s creation. Other than Avatar, I think this will be the movie to be watched, alongside with 2012. Great way to end a year!!

Well, you can check out more on Nuffnang's Sherlock post.

Cheers

Sakae Sushi

A late post, it occurred right before we (me, Elmo, Little Karen, and Derick) went to watch 2012!

The stacks, well, actually Little Karen was the one who was really eating, me and Elmo order noodles while she was eating all these sushis! Look at how tall is the stack, slightly taller then the 'Sho Yu' bottle.

I had a little fun of my own as well, playing with the conveyor belt, there was two layer, one on top and one below, of course I could not play with the top one. So I played with the bottom one, putting a few sushi next to each other, and place the car sushi at the front, snapped a pic but somehow the pic is not with me, oh well.

Then right behind us (me and Elmo), this cute pal was there. Salivating was expected, yet, very friendly, we played and laughed and smiled for awhile until he started to climb the conveyor belt. The mom had to take all the sushi away and pass it to the dad to put it back on the conveyor belt so that this rascal won't step, snatch, push or whatever thing on those expensive sushis.

Overall the food at Sakae Sushi was great, but pricey. I like the way where we can order from the monitor available at the table, with a click of the mouse, your order will arrive fairly soon. The only down part was that there are three confirmation clicks, but that is also a good thing, so it is practically impossible for you to accidentally order something!

2012 - We Were Warned!

Recently watched 2012 at GSC, seating was lousy as we only had either first or second row (side seat), so we took the side seats.

I wonder if any of you had encounter these 2 while trying to download from your home.

As what I had heard, its more of a low budget thingy. Enough with that, now onto the real deal!

Before anything, I believe this is one of the movies where you MUST WATCH AT A CINEMA (THX preferably). The sound system is superb, so go on and support just this once, and you are paying to watch more than 2 hours, so its kinda worth it.

I don't think I need to re-tell about the story line, but just in case, it all started from the Mayan, they already predicted that on that particular of the year, the world will perish!

This will be the main character John Cusack as Jackson Curtis, an author who also works as a limousine driver. He plays the role of a useless father until the safety of everyone is threaten. (Typical story line)

Did I mentioned that this is the mom (ex-wife [another typical story line]). Amanda Peet as Kate Curtis

Next in line we have the person who was among the reason why human civilization (bad guys/loaded guys) was rescued. (This time, I like the twist, to why only rich/bad guys are saved)Chiwetel Ejiofor as Adrian Helmsley, the scientist

Next we have the scientist (Adrian)'s future wife, Thandie Newton as Laura Wilson

Adrian's BossOliver Platt as Carl Anheuser

The President of United States, Danny Glover as Thomas Wilson

And last but not least, the whacky yet real guy from YellowstoneWoody Harrelson as Charlie Frost

The whole story is rather predictable and boring, but its the effects that is amazing, its also somehow nice to watch, one of the recommended movies, not because of the story, but rather because of the effects

Pizza Hut @ Equine Park Jusco

Well, we hadn't had pizza for quite some time, so went a grab it, Elmo took the lunch set while I took add-on salad! Yummy was the only word available! As we are pizza lovers when we just started dating, frequenting every Pizza Hut there is in Malacca, we even categorize them by what they do best, soup/spaghetti/pizza/service/gay(she-males). The last one is no joke, but not sure whether they are still working there or not though, but they serve the best spaghetti and soup if I'm not mistaken, that outlet is directly opposite of Chicken Rice Ball shop, and Mercedes I think. Its a corner shop.

Well, back to the main subject!

Aerial view of my salad!

Side

And just so you know why a lot people was looking at me, a measurement using the breadstick

Hehe, I never knew it was extraordinary to take that much, I always stuff as much as I can, cause you take a little or a lot also paying the same price, since I can eat  a lot, hence the amount.
But Elmo told me that seldom people take till so full, overflowing.
Had a difficult time to start eating it, imagine how you eat your ABC.

Kinda forget to get her pizza pics, but at least she modeled for my salad!

Learning

Me and Elmo went to a secret place today.
Its rather fun, or maybe its just beginners, they give us the easier jobs. But enjoyed it, perhaps its due to our trainer, he is very friendly and he looks rather handsome (I'm not gay!). Learned a lot and did a lot of mistakes too. Well, that's why we are still learning.

Well, I thought we could only earn about RM50-RM70 per day at most. But maybe, just maybe, we can already be earning that much when we actually start work, and when we are used to the work (can work faster with less error), we can earn 3digits per day. AWESOME!!

So from estimated 2digits becomes 3digits leads me to

Extend studies? (by force)

I don't want to extend my studies, if only I can register for Business Law this trimester!

All I can do now is pray that I can successfully register. My fate will be decided this Monday (I think)! If I can't register this trimester, next semester might have even more subject clashing, even with the approval of the current lecturers, the admin won't allow!!! Really problematic la!!

So all I can do now is pray for the best!

Spicylicious!

Was suppose to head to Kenny Rogers and watch a movie after. Change of plan, didn't watch movie due to some unexpected problems, and was no longer in the mood for Kenny, thus since was in Mid Valley, I felt like having something cheaper than Kenny, and our FAVOURITE grill fish came to mind!

So after parking, we headed to Oasis Food Court, if you don't know how to get there, you can either start from 'Secret Recipe' (Ground Floor) and head up the escalator until you see a shop selling loads of guitar on your left, Oasis Food court is nearby. Alternatively, you can head down from Nike/World of Feng Shui/Pets Wonderland (Top Floor), its just one level down, on the right after you descended the escalator.

Find for Portuguese Grill, you can't miss it, I went there four times, and not one time it was without a queue. There are Pari, Dorry, Kembong, and Bawal, you can order them individually or you can mix them with either Petai, Lala, and Udang (Prawn) I think. We loved the Kacang Botol too, unless you dislike spicy or too health conscious (it can sometimes be a little too oily, but I don't think its too salty though, as the taste comes mainly from the chili paste and 'xia mi').

Pari Petai (RM7.90) + Dorry Petai (RM7.90) + normal rice & added rice = RM16.40

Loved it!

Home Coming

Hehe. Not really a home coming dance/party,  instead, its my brother coming back home after so many months in Hospital.

He has met with many complication after his bike crash. Something which was supposed to be fatal at that time (head injury, brain swelling, blood clots scatter all throughout the brain), doctors assume at worst he cant make it over the night, at best he will be disabled for the rest of his life. But dang, a week later, my brother was on the road to recovery, other than unable to count, he has no problems.

But not long after that, he met with a less serious problem which is much more troublesome. His windpipe is blocked, maybe during the accident, doctors use some device to aid his breathing (he could not breath, see, talk, feel), and it might have injured his wind pipe during that time.

Now he is admited in ENT (Ear Nose Throat) ward, and they cut out a chunk of meat from the  windpipe and place a T-tube, one tube in the inside of the throat, and joint by another tube at the neck, that forms a T-shape thus T-tube.

Complication such as water/soup coming out of the tube when he eats (it should not come out as food and air has their respective pipes), he was bloated (doctors mistake, and because a stupid nurse did not realise it in time, they had to cut open his neck, a rather long opening if you ask me.

Enough with the rant, now he is home, hopefully he will only be getting better from now on.

Subject clashing!!!

As stated, currently faced in a serious problem. Subject clashing, if I can't register it, I might have to extend one semester, and ultimately, extend my graduation by a year!!
How to blend it? Don't want to extend!!

Done

Just received words from mom, bro has completed his surgery.

Went to Tian Hou Gong somewhere near Mid Valley, its going up hill like that, a lot people went there to get registered (marriage), even Derick's sister registered there.

Me, Elmo and mom went there to pray around noon, after sending mom back to UH (Universiti Hospital), I headed back to Cyber to submit my Final Report.

Bro is currently safe. Lets hope he will only get better!!

Dreadful day

Another dreadful event has approached. My brother survived his bike crash which was supposed to be fatal, with some minor brain damage which he seems to have been able to recover from. But not long after that, he faced yet another complication, his throat.

All these while he had breathing problems, mostly due to his nostril if memory serves me right, this time, due to unknown reason, his throat (one of the pipes which we use to breath) has turned from a ruler shape to an hourglass shape, thus breathing problem arise.
It was not so serious, but things took a bad turn and they had to cut a hole at his throat, allowing him to breath (hourglass thing blocked or something I think). He had a few near death experience after that, but all was lucky enough. One of the time, he was at the brink of death, just minutes away, lucky one of the nurse noticed something amiss, it was past midnight, and my brother cant talk let alone yell, so he was unable to call for help.

He was previously admitted in Neurology when he had his bike crash, now he is in ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) division.
He was released after quite some time. But things took a bad turn few days ago, he coughed till there is blood, I'm not sure of the details, about where the blood is from (throat/mouth), but yesterday (Thursday), there was a number of doctors coming in for consultation, and the Head Surgeon was also there. He will be put on to the operation room later this morning, about 7/8am.

As much as I hate to say, all we can do now is to leave it to the hands of the doctors. Pray hard for him.
Get well soon Sherman, my beloved brother!

Good or Bad Marketing?

Not too long ago, I was Google-ing some images for my Assignments, stumbled upon this.

As a Marketing Student, I was frustrated when seeing this kind of promotion, but then again, it is funny when you really pause and think about it.
Well, I assume the promotion is 'BUY X FOR THE PRICE OF X - 1', or something like that, this might just be a misspelled banner or some printing error.

I wonder, were there anyone who fell for this? Haha. Well, I would like to buy 3 big bottle for the price of 3 small bottle though.

Kolo Mee

If any of you don't know, Elmo and Little Karen are from Kuching, and are currently in MMU Cyberjaya pursuing their studies, one is in the final year while the other has just started her freshman year.

So it is usual that I accept their rant about how terrible wantan mee is, and how they miss their kolo mee, tomato mee, cendol (thats me), etc. So upon noticing Vkeong's recommendation some time ago, we finally went there to dine during lunch yesterday.

Well, what you see here is the stall, if you cant wait for it, scroll down to the link, headsteadi can direct you on how to get there better than me.

Well, this is a picture of the stall, the menu.
Elmo complained that its very expensive, RM4.30, when back at Kuching its just RM2++ or RM3++ at most. Well, uncle need to import the mee from Kuching, so that might contribute to the price.
The only thing that Elmo complain is that it is a little too salty. But overall, its the best Kolo Mee we tasted here in Selangor.

The uncle was really kind, when I went and ask for more chilli, and told him we all (three of us) like chilli, he asked me to wait and go back to my seat, then he came back with this. You can refer to headsteady for directions to here.
